Founded in 1994 as a collective of record labels, Musicmine will celebrate their 30th anniversary this year with a star-studded, special party at WWW/ WWWβ in Shibuya, Tokyo on June 14th, Fri., and 15th, Sat.!!! Their enduring spirit for the past 30 years has been to continually crank out and nurture music that’s cutting-edge and counter-culture in the true sense of the word. Akin to underground DJ culture, they strive to introduce and ally with only music that emanates out of “the scene”.Their main labels are Sublime Records (techno), ZK & Less Than TV (alt-rock, punk), Mary Joy (hip-hop), comma (psychedelic), Hot-Cha (post-rock), etc. All of them are truly hardcore labels whose influence is still being felt not only in Japan but throughout the world. The number of titles released from these labels is so vast that arguably, no one can get a full grasp of its existence. With more than 1,000 titles and counting, the short list of their most renowned artists below will give you a glimpse of the very uniqueness and foresight of Musicmine within the Japanese music scene in the past 30 years!The following is a list of artists that Musicmine have released: Ken Ishii, Susumu Yokota, Rei Harakami, Guitarwolf, Shing02, Coaltar Of The Deepers, Co-Fusion, DMBQ, ASA-CHANG & pilgrimage, DJ KLOCK, WRENCH, sugar plant, DJ Quietstorm, DJ光光光 (Eye from The Boredoms), MOODMAN, TANZMUZIK, AOA, SOFT, UG MAN, Volume Dealers, Ahh! Folly Jet, CHEHON, DJ NOBU, Hakushi Hasegawa and the list goes on and on. However, perhaps because of the very underground, genre-less and chaotic nature of what has been continuously released for 30 years in a semi, self-deprecating manner and although there has been many parties held by each of their labels, for some reason, there has never been an all encompassing, Musicmine-organised singular event. It was probably due to their history of having many infamous and extremely strange staff that worked there who brought chaos more so than the artists that they actually released but also this anarchy was also impossible to control, even for the head of Musicmine, Hideoki Amano. The staff were all brutally aware that it was close to impossible to organize such an event that transcended the boundaries of Musicmine’s releases.Still remaining intact through the test of time, Musicmine is now entering a new phase. Symbolized by the recent breakthrough of one of their carefully nurtured artist, Hakushi Hasegawa now signed to Brainfeeder, they are very much attuned of how the current music scene is filled with a completely new breed of artists who are becoming major players in the industry now. So, they understand that it is appropriate to naturally present to streaming accustomed listeners whose musical tastes now are more chaotic and do not have any preconceived notions about genre and their musical tastes from the very beginning. This is precisely the undefined, borderless way of listening and presenting music that Musicmine has cultivated over the past 30 years. This notion is finally no longer just the stuff of eccentrics and oddballs. Now is the time for Musicmine to confidently present a purely borderless event with a sweeping demeanor. Many of the performers who are scheduled to appear for this special celebration have remained active since the 90s when Musicmine was founded and the line-up is one that they would like to proudly reintroduce for this very special occasion.Finally, the 30th anniversary of the founding of this company shall be celebrated and hopefully these Two Days will also be the first steps towards breaking new ground for  Musicmine.
