    その活動期には多種多様かつアンダーグラウンドの音楽シーンに影響を与え、そして最大級の賛辞を持って、2007年にリリースされたスマーフ男組のファースト・フルアルバム「スマーフ男組の個性と発展」が、2021年のアナログリイシューに続き、遂にサブスク解禁となります。
    また今回の配信に際し、アルバム収録曲中“スマーフ男組”は「何を志していたのか？」という、その最もコアな部分を世に放った決意表明とも取れる「Stop, Look, Listen」のMusic Videoを新しく作成、監督にイラストレーター・沖真秀、映像作家・玉田伸太郎、デザイナー・Fukinを迎え、現在も生き続けている“スマーフ男組”の遺伝子を紡いでいる。そしてようやく、このサブスク解禁によって、彼らが唯一残した世紀の摩訶不思議で楽しい名盤が、より幅広くかつ気軽にリスニングされる環境が完成された訳である。90年代～00年代の東京、日本からしか生まれないであろう、雑食なまでに交配されていったオルタナティヴ様々な音楽やヒップホップの息吹、当時はまだ音響派なる定義も存在していて、その煮えたぎっていた空気感が少しでも伝わり、現在、これから先の未来へも繋がっていくのであれば、今は亡きメンバー、マジアレ太カヒRAWも天国でほくそ笑んでいるに違いない。

    During its heyday, the incredibly diverse and underground music scene left a lasting mark. And now, after receiving high praise upon its release in 2007, Smurf Otokogumi's debut full-length album is finally making its way to streaming platforms, following its analog reissue in 2021. Along with the streaming debut, a brand new music video has been created for the track a core declaration of Smurf Otokogumi's intentions. The video features the talents of illustrator Masaki Oki, visual artist Shintaro Tamada, and designer Fukin. This effort seamlessly continues the legacy of Smurf Otokogumi that continues to this day. With the arrival of this streaming launch, the whimsically enchanting turn-of-the-century masterpiece, their only enduring contribution, finds itself in an environment for a wider and more relaxed audience. It captures the unique essence of Tokyo and Japan from the '90s to the 2000s - a fusion of alternative music and hip-hop that's a product of its time and place. Even then, the concept of "audiophiles" was present, and the simmering vibe of that era is subtly conveyed. As this feeling continues to bridge not only to the future, but far beyond, there's no doubt that late member Majiare Ta-KahiRAW is looking down from heaven with a satisfied grin.

    90年代に活動した音響派ユニット、Asteroid Desert Songs(A.D.S.)の活動休止後、そのメンバー3人、マジアレ太カヒRAW(チビ声＝チップマンク声/マイク&ドラム、そのほか担当)、コンピューマ(ターンテーブルとそのほか担当)、アキラ・ザ・マインド(ベース、鍵盤とそのほか担当)により1997年に結成されたエレクトロ・ヒップホップ・ユニット。オールドスクール・ヒップホップやエレクトロ、更にはマイアミ・ベース、ラテン・フリースタイルといった、80年代のヒップホップとそこから派生したジャンル、エディット・ミュージックへの愛情を露わに、ヒップホップのキュートでフレッシュな魅力を、クラブ、ライブハウスの垣根を越えて活動、実験性も交えながらポップ・ミュージックへの昇華を試みた。「KILLED BY BASS」（1997年）「ILL-CENTRIK FUNK VOL.1」（1998年）「衝撃のUFO -衝撃のREMIX」（1998年）「E2-E4 2001 -Inspiration from E2-E4」（2001年）等いくつかのコンピレーションへの参加後、2007年にデビューアルバム「スマーフ男組の個性と発展」をリリース。同年には、SPACE MCEE’Z（ロボ宙、 ZEN-LA ROCK）とのスタジオ・セッション・アルバム「WUKOVAH SESSIONS Vol.1」もリリースした。2017年、マジアレ太カヒRAW（村松誉啓）亡き後は事実上活動休止中ながら、2021年にはアルバム「スマーフ男組の個性と発展」がアナログリイシュー。そして、2023年夏、サブスクリプション解禁に続いて、秋には初期音源アーカイヴ・シリーズのリリースが予定されている。

    Emerging from the 90s sound-focused collective "Asteroid Desert Songs" (A.D.S.), this electro-hip-hop trio came together in 1997 after A.D.S. went on a break. The group consists of three members: Majiare Tai Kah RAW, known for his distinctive high-pitched chipmunk-like voice and also handling the mic and drums; Compyuma, who takes charge of the turntables and more; and Akira the Mind, responsible for bass, keyboards, and more.
    They openly embraced their love for various musical styles rooted in the 80s Hip-Hop scene, such as Old School Hip-Hop, electro, Miami Bass, and Latin Freestyle, while also delving into the world of edit music. Their aim was to infuse the cuteness and fresh appeal of Hip-Hop into their work, transcending the boundaries of clubs and live performances, and incorporating experimental elements.
    They contributed tracks to a number of compilations, including "KILLED BY BASS" (1997), "ILL-CENTRIK FUNK VOL.1" (1998), "Impactful UFO - REMIX" (1998), and "E2-E4 2001 -Inspiration from E2-E4" (2001). In 2007, they released their debut album "The Unique Personalities and Progression of the Smurf Boyz". That same year, they collaborated with SPACE MCEE’Z (Robo Chuu and ZEN-LA ROCK) to drop the studio session album "WUKOVAH SESSIONS Vol.1".
    After Majiare Tai Kah RAW (Takahiro Muramatsu) sadly passed away in 2017, the group effectively went on hiatus. Nevertheless, in 2021, their album "The Unique Personalities and Progression of the Smurf Boyz" was reissued on analog format. Now, in the summer of 2023, following a subscription release, they have plans to unveil a series of early archival recordings in the upcoming fall.
